I was lucky enough to find the initial sketch that I made for this final piece, and well, for this one that I did last year it is pretty much cut and dry.
It was more or less an experiment with certain kinds of brush presets; in this case I basically scanned a sketch and went right overtop of it on a painted layer, no other layers, like texture layers or blending layers accompanied it. The textures on the rocks were made pretty easily by blowing up a large pastel brush and turning the opacity down way low and just bricking it.
